After an absence of seven years CLAIR OBSCUR was reactivated in November 2004 by the two founding members, Christophe Demarthe (vocals) and Nicolas Demarthe (guitar). Since then they have given several concerts in France, Belgium, Italy and Switzerland... and have now finally finished their first ALL NEW album in years, featuring 10 new tracks!

From tribal cold wave to chamber music, from industrial music to dance music (unless these two are synonymous), their musical approach is eminently atmospheric and embraces a surprising variety of styles, giving birth to iconoclastic scenic transcriptions.

Among all the groups which animated the French Cold Wave and Industrial scenes of the 80s, CLAIR OBSCUR is certainly one of those which radiated furthest outside the boundaries of France. From KILLING JOKE to THE NITS, from the Cirque d'Hiver de Paris (1982) to the Wiener Festwochen (1991), the bands with which they played, and the venues and places that they performed are a fantastic testimony to this group which is so difficult to classify.

I absolutely adore this recording, in fact I would easily call this next offering one of the 10 best dark recordings of all time. A timeless classic and a true example of audio darkness.

Limited to 666 copies and recorded live on 06/06/06, this is a must have experience.

Captured live at The Center for Inquiry, Los Angeles June 6, 2006, with no additional overdubs or production. The first Lustmord performance in 25 years. The performance drew on material from various Lustmord albums, melded and blended into new combinations, as well as new material and improvisation. The release of Lustmord: Rising also marks the 25th anniversary of Lustmord. Over the quarter century of its existence, Lustmord has attained a legendary reputation, with numerous albums and collaborative recording partnerships with the likes of Tool, Melvins, Coil, Paul Haslinger, Tangerine Dream, SPK, Chris & Cosey, Throbbing Gristle, Clock DVA, Robert Rich, Jarboe (Swans), Current 93, Nurse With Wound and Lori Carson. Siglo XX ::: Under A Purple Sky

Siglo XX was a Belgian Coldwave, Darkwave and Gothic rock group from Genk active from 1979-1989. The group's sound was influenced by Joy Division and Factory Records. Siglo XX was one of the more well-known Belgian coldwave bands and by 2010 was considered to have been a key influence on the Belgian music scene. The group's name in Spanish means "twentieth century". It can both be pronounced as Siglo Iks Iks or as Siglo Veinte[6] and reportedly stems from an anarchist movement during the Spanish Civil War and/or a Bolivian mine named Siglo XX that was the scene of social unrest.

999 are an English rock band who formed in London in 1977. They are often cited as one of the first punk rock bands.[citation needed] Between 1978 and 1981, they had five Top 75 singles in the UK Singles Chart, and one Top 40 single. After extensive touring across the Atlantic, the band's third and fourth studio albums charted in the United States. Despite breaking up a couple of times, they continue to record and play live to the present day.

Cabaret Voltaire ::: Three Mantras

Three Mantras is an extended play by Cabaret Voltaire, released in 1980. The album was packaged in an intentionally confusing manner, with the Eastern/Western titles reversed on the cover, the same label on both sides and a sticker on early pressings apologizing for there only being two mantras (despite the title) and explaining that the album was being priced as a single to make up for it.

An astonishing album by the Cabs. Above all this is a tremendous psychedelic record, with "Eastern Mantra" being a crossover between Eastern litany, industrial, acid psychedelia, improvisation, electronics and dance music. All the while "Western Mantra" features an even looser form of psychedelia (Eastern elements abound here as well), assuming the guise of a hypnosis and subsequent delve into the collective subconscious of modern society, as well as an exorcism which reveals it's pagan roots.
