SPK ::: Information Overload Unit

First studio LP by industrial classic SPK (after the live album At the Crypt) is somehow an introduction to their famous Leichenschrei [as Socialistiches Patienten Kollektiv] - the 'weakest' noise-explorers are easily discouraged by this album. Disturbing noisy power electronics improvisations with a well-hidden germ of melody are the clue of Information Overload Unit [as System Planning Korporation]. Though, some of the songs show the post-punk inspiration of SPK - like the second track Suture Obsession with a bass guitar on the first plan.

Tracklist:
1. Emanation Machine R. Gie
2. Suture Obsession
3. Macht Schrecken
4. Beruftverbot
5. Ground Zero: Infinity Dos
6. Stammheim Torturkammer
7. Retard

SoliPsiK (SPK) ‎::: See-Saw / Chambermusik

The legendary industrial band SPK certainly produced some madness and yet this small 7" was not one of them.  In fact I think this remains their most listenable of releases.

Tracklist:
1. See-Saw
2. Chambermusik

SPK ::: Breathless

Amazing! Though not at all in the way that SPK's earlier work was amazing - all the noise and extra-dimensional sampling terror has left the building (and the country, and the planet) by the time of this release. Side A finds the Surgical Penis Klinik doing some catchy female vocal driven pop shit, like happycore via 1988. People looking for the original SPK sound and only that sound will most definitely be disappointed, but if that 80's synthpop sound is your thing, this tune will just kill you. By asphyxiation. Side B is SPK doing Mantronix style electro/hip-hop, with a female MC (Karina?) holding it down on the mic - and why not? Bump it in your car! Dance to it! Take drugs to it! Mix it with your Severed Heads and Skinny Puppy! It's seriously killer!

Tracklist:
A Breathless (Extended Remix)
B Wired For Sound (RRR Mix)

SPK ::: From Science to Ritual

One of the most remarkable seminal Industrial / Noise groups from Australia. Formed by New Zealand-born Graeme Revell, a mainstay member, and Neil Hill in Sydney 1978. Disbanded in 1988.

Their musical style dramatically toured to Industrial-Disco Fusion/EBM/Synth-Pop or esoteric Ritual music since 1984 especially, and the number of members were dynamically changed from time to time.  They were one of a kind and a must for listeners of the obscure.

Tracklist:

5- Day Of
6- Agony of the Plasm

SPK ‎::: Auto Da Fe

SPK were an Australian industrial music and noise music group formed in 1978 in Sydney when New Zealand-born Graeme Revell (aka "EMS AKS", "Operator", "Oblivion") met Neil Hill (aka "Ne/H/il"). Revell was working as a nurse on a psychiatric ward at Callan Park Hospital where Hill was also working. Hill and Revell shared a house and an interest in the manifesto of the German radical Marxist group known as the Sozialistisches Patientenkollektiv (SPK). The duo were influenced by Kraftwerk, Can, Neu!, Faust, and John Cage – they started playing their own variety of industrial music as SPK. According to rock music historian, Ian McFarlane the acronym SPK is variously given as "SoliPsiK, SepPuKu, Surgical Penis Klinik, System Planning Korporation and Sozialistisches Patienten Kollektiv".

In early February 1984, just before his 28th birthday, Neil Hill committed suicide. Two days later his wife Margaret Hill (nee Nikitenko) died as a result of complications from anorexia.
