After his stint in Death In June but before his decision to create Sol Invictus, Tony Wakeford founded Above The Ruins. For those primarily familiar with Sol Invictus, the sound of this album (the only one ever produced under the Above The Ruins name) will come as quite a surprise.
Released by First Floor Records in 1986. It was originally released on cassette in 1985 and was later released on CD at two different occasions. This projects and release strays clear of Wakeford's usual neofolk style and plugs away at post-punk. So how does it all work? Superbly!
